A meeting of the District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) was held on Monday at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall in Bomdila under the chairmanship of West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar.
Addressing the meeting, 4-Dirang MLA and Advisor to Minister for Public Works Department Highways and Science & Technology Phurpa Tsering stressed the importance of active participation of Panchayat leaders in development planning and monitoring.
“We should conduct such coordination meetings constituency-wise to ensure wider participation and effective discussion of core issues,” he said.
Tsering also instructed the Rural Works Department to make the cremation ground constructed at Dirang operational without delay.
Chairing the meeting, Dr Kumar said Panchayati Raj Institution members should remain vigilant regarding all developmental works in their respective areas and ensure close coordination with executing agencies and contractors for effective monitoring of projects.
He also directed the Public Works Department (PWD), Bomdila Division, to complete the augmented Deputy Commissioner’s office building at the earliest to enable early shifting.
Referring to the Vibrant Villages Programme, the DC stressed the need to learn from past experiences and ensure that all proposals align with the objectives of the scheme.
“Any proposal under the Vibrant Villages Programme should be prepared in consultation with the concerned Members of Legislative Assembly,” he said.
Dr Kumar further sought cooperation from all heads of departments for initiating the town planning process of Bomdila.
