BENGALURU : The Paralympic Association of Arunachal (PAA) has congratulated para athletes Kipa Mero and Tingong Wangpan for their impressive performances at the 8th Indian Open International Para Athletics Championships 2026 held in Bengaluru from May 25 to 27.

Kipa Mero won the silver medal in the Women’s F-12 category, while Tingong Wangpan secured silver in the Men’s T-37 sprint category, bringing laurels to Arunachal Pradesh at the international-level championship.

The association said the achievements reflect the growing standard, dedication and potential of para athletes from Arunachal Pradesh on national and international sporting platforms.

The Arunachal contingent was led by coach Techi Sonu and team manager Takam Pario, who guided and supported the athletes throughout the championship.

The PAA also expressed appreciation to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for its continued support towards the development of para sports in the state.

Extending best wishes to all para athletes, the association expressed hope for greater success and achievements in future international competitions.
