APLS holds 153rd monthly sitting

ITANAGAR : The Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS) on Sunday held its 153rd monthly sitting at the society’s office hall under the chairmanship of Rajiv Gandhi University Assistant Professor Dr Doyir Ete Taipodia.

The session featured recitations of self-composed poems, short stories, articles and translated literary works, followed by interactive discussions on the presentations.

Dr Bompi Riba, Dr Moge Basar, Takhe Yasa, Takhe Yebyang, Yagyaj and Tarh Susana presented their original poems in English and Hindi. Inumoni Das Thongchi recited the Assamese translation of Dr Doyir Ete Taipodia’s acclaimed poem Lost Word, which she translated.

Yagyaj also presented a short story titled ‘The Prize of the Faith’, highlighting issues arising from religious conversion in India.

Wango Socia presented an article titled ‘The Preservation of Literature’ through the Prism of the Poetry Book of Dr Tunung Tabing, emphasising the importance of preserving indigenous languages and cultural heritage through literature.

The monthly sitting concluded with members reaffirming their commitment to promoting literary creativity and preserving the rich linguistic and cultural traditions of Arunachal Pradesh.
