PASIGHAT : Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC), Pasighat, has formally relaunched its official multidisciplinary research journal, Arunachal Vision, with the publication of Volume 6, Issue 1 (2026), marking the journal’s return after a prolonged hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the retirement of former Editor-in-Chief Dr. SK Sinha.
The journal, bearing ISSN 2321-4201, was released at a function on the college campus attended by JNC Principal Dr. Gindu Borang, Vice Principal Dr. Leki Sitang, Research and Development Cell In-Charge Dr. Kento Kadu, Arunachal Vision Chief Editor Dr. Temin Payum, Heads of Departments, faculty members and researchers.
The latest volume comprises 19 research articles covering diverse disciplines, including education policy, social sciences, indigenous knowledge systems, literature, environmental studies, ethnobotany and public health. Among the featured studies are research on vocational education in Arunachal Pradesh under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by Sony Dupak and Dr. Leki Sitang; documentation of Adi oral traditions; a GIS-based physico-chemical analysis of the Siang River; a preliminary study on cancer prevalence in East Siang district linked to the consumption of carcinogenic food substances; ethnomedicinal practices of the Monpa community in Tawang; and a review of Clerodendrum colebrookianum in the management of hypertension.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries described Arunachal Vision as an important scholarly platform for documenting region-specific issues, promoting evidence-based research and preserving indigenous knowledge. They said the journal reflects the sustained research culture at JNC and the institution’s commitment to advancing academic excellence in higher education.
In the editorial note, Chief Editor Dr. Temin Payum acknowledged the contributions of the editorial team, authors, reviewers and the college management in bringing out the latest volume despite various challenges.
The college also announced that the journal will soon be transitioned to an online publication under the new title Jawaharlal Nehru College Research Journal (Online), to be hosted on the college’s official website. The move is expected to enhance the journal’s visibility, improve the discoverability of research undertaken at JNC and expand its academic outreach through digital scholarly platforms.
The relaunch of Arunachal Vision is expected to strengthen the research ecosystem in Arunachal Pradesh while encouraging original, region-specific scholarship among faculty members and students.
