YUPIA : The Nyishi Elite Society (NES) on Tuesday contributed ₹5 lakh to support families affected by the recent flash floods in Hoj-Dakte villages under Toru circle in Papum Pare district.
The cheque was handed over to Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Lobsang Tsering by an NES delegation led by its General Secretary Er. Nabam Takar at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Yupia.
Presenting the contribution, Er. Takar appreciated the district administration for its prompt response to the disaster and reaffirmed the Society’s commitment to supporting both the administration and affected families during times of crisis.
Receiving the donation, the DC thanked the Society for its generous assistance and assured that the funds would be utilised judiciously and transparently for the welfare and rehabilitation of the flood-affected families in the Hoj-Dakte area.
The delegation also included Finance Secretary Er. Rajesh Dawe, Assistant Secretary (Coordination) Dr. Bengia Tada, Secretary (ICR) Er. Techi Topu Tara, Secretary (Sports and Youth Affairs) Nabam Jallow, Papum Pare District Secretary Nabam Tarin, Papum Pare District Chairman Dr. Akin Tana Tara and Office Secretary Heri Aka.
Earlier, the NES had contributed Rs 10 lakh towards relief efforts for flood-affected families in Possa village of Keyi Panyor district, reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian assistance during natural calamities.
