TAWANG, AUG 14:

Police in Tawang on Friday traced and safely recovered four minor boys who had gone missing from a residential school in East Kameng district, within 35 minutes of receiving an alert from Seppa police.

The boys, students of Eklavya Model Residential School at Bana, were found near the Parade Ground area in Tawang township at around 1.05 pm, police said.

According to officials, the officer-in-charge of Seppa Police Station alerted Tawang police at around 12.30 pm that four minor students had left the school premises and were suspected to be heading towards Tawang.

Acting on the information, a police team led by Tawang Women police station officer-in-charge Lady Inspector Niyi Angu launched a search across the township. The operation was carried out under the supervision of superintendent of police Tasi Darang and deputy superintendent of police TogumGonggo.

The search led to the boys being located and intercepted within 35 minutes of the alert.

Following their recovery, the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and local authorities were informed. The minors were taken to Tawang Police Station, where they were counselled by CWC member Sonam Dolkar and Genden Lhamu of the District Child Protection Unit.

After completing the necessary legal formalities and ensuring their well-being, the four boys were handed over to their parents in good health, police said.
