DPC meeting held

DAPORIJO, AUG 18:

The District Planning Committee (DPC) of Upper Subansiri district met at the DC Conference Hall, District Secretariat, Daporijo, on Wednesday to deliberate on and finalise the Zilla Parishad Development Plan (ZPDP) and Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for the financial year 2026–27.

The meeting was chaired by Upper Subansiri Deputy Commissioner and attended by the Zilla Parishad Chairperson, Zilla Parishad members, heads of departments and line departments, and Member Secretaries of Gram Panchayats.

During the meeting, the respective GPDPs were presented through PowerPoint presentations by the concerned Member Secretaries, outlining grassroots-level development priorities, proposed activities and interventions for 2026–27.

The committee deliberated on the plans with emphasis on need-based and participatory planning and convergence among various departments, ensuring that proposed interventions are aligned with local requirements and available resources. The need for effective coordination between Panchayati Raj Institutions and line departments for better implementation and outcomes was also stressed.

A separate discussion on Solid Waste Management (SWM) was held following the DPC proceedings. Members emphasised the need for coordinated efforts towards scientific waste management, source segregation, cleanliness and sustainable waste disposal practices across the district.

The meeting stressed collective ownership and coordinated action among elected representatives, Panchayati Raj Institutions and line departments to translate the development plans into tangible outcomes for the people of Upper Subansiri.
