The 28th Miss Lu 2026 pageant entered a new phase with the official photoshoot of the contestants held in Mebo on Wednesday, ahead of the grand finale scheduled for September 12 at Gidi Notko, Pasighat.

The auditions for the pageant were held at Gidi Notko on August 8, with 19 aspiring contestants appearing for the selection process. Sixteen contestants were selected for the main competition, while three others will enter through wildcard slots, taking the total number of finalists to 19.

The grand finale will feature multiple rounds designed to assess the contestants’ confidence, personality, talent and overall presence. Organisers have also announced special subtitles to recognise contestants in different categories. The competition is expected to comprise four rounds and five additional subtitles, including a special “secret subtitle”.

The winner of this year’s Miss Lu crown will receive a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Held for several decades, the Miss Lu pageant has evolved beyond conventional beauty and fashion, providing young women with a platform to express their individuality, develop confidence and showcase their talents.
