PASIGHAT, AUG 19:

The Adi Bane Kébang (ABK), led by its president Tanon Tatak and acting general secretary Oson Taying, on Wednesday conducted a land survey for the proposed establishment of an AIIMS-like medical college at Pasighat.

On the first day of the survey, the ABK team visited land parcels proposed to be donated by the Bilat, Sigar and Ayeng communities. The team conducted ground-level assessments and interacted with stakeholders regarding the proposed land and the requirements of the project.

The proposed institution is envisaged as a major centre for advanced healthcare and medical education, with the potential to strengthen healthcare services and medical education in Arunachal Pradesh and the wider Northeast.

The survey will continue on Wednesday, with the team scheduled to visit the remaining land parcels proposed for donation.

The initiative reflects the willingness of the participating communities to contribute land towards a project of public importance and the ABK’s efforts to facilitate the process through systematic assessment and coordination with stakeholders.
