ITANAGAR, SEP 7:

The Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology (APSCS&T) on Monday inaugurated a five-day Advanced SolidWorks Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Software Training Programme at the Reverse Engineering Lab of the Centre of Excellence for Science, Technology, Innovation and Research (CoESTIR).

The training, which will continue till September 11, aims to strengthen technical skills and bridge the gap between academic learning and industry-oriented engineering practices.

APSCS&T Chairman Dr Tage Taki, who attended the inaugural programme as Chief Guest, highlighted the rapid evolution of computer-aided design technology and urged participants to make effective use of advanced tools to promote innovation and economic development in the region.

APSCS&T Director-cum-Member Secretary C D Mungyak delivered the welcome remarks.

NERIST faculty members Prof Arnab Bandopadhyay and Prof Sandeep Singh, who were special guests, were acknowledged for their contributions to the establishment of CoESTIR and development of the Council’s technological roadmap. They also acknowledged the contribution of Science Centre Curator Vivek Kumar.

The hands-on training is being attended by participants from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jote, Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic (RGGP) Itanagar and technical staff of the department.

The five-day programme covers graphical user interface (GUI) optimisation, complex part design, advanced surface creation, multibody modelling and reverse engineering of scanned STL mesh models.

Technical sessions are being conducted by IIT Guwahati Research Scholar Umesh Melkani and Himalayer Additive Creations Pvt Ltd founder Alok Singh Negi.

APSCS&T Deputy Director Dr Pakngu Lombi proposed the vote of thanks at the inaugural ceremony.
