ITANAGAR, SEP 9:
The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) has strongly condemned the recent circulation of viral videos purportedly showing the molestation and abuse of a child, describing the acts as “heinous, deeply disturbing and completely unacceptable.”
APSCW Chairperson Yalem Taga Burang, in a statement, appreciated the prompt action taken by the police and urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and take immediate and stringent legal action against the alleged perpetrators under all applicable provisions of law.
The APSCW specifically called for examination of all aspects of the matter and registration of the case under relevant provisions concerning child trafficking and child labour, in addition to laws relating to child sexual abuse and exploitation, wherever applicable.
The Commission also urged the authorities to ensure a swift investigation and strict legal action so that justice is delivered. It called for all necessary care, protection and assistance to be provided to the victim and the victim’s family.
