Dibang Valley District Electoral Roll Observer for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 YVVJ Rajasekhar reviewed the ongoing revision of electoral rolls at Anini on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sadhu Mihu, Deputy Commissioner Yashwant Meena, ADC Jally Umpo, District BJP President Dipen Molo, District Congress President Wundu Mihu and other stakeholders.

Rajasekhar emphasised the need for transparency and accuracy throughout the revision process and urged Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to actively participate in the claims and objections process to ensure an accurate and credible electoral roll.

During the meeting, District Congress President Wundu Mihu raised concerns over the alleged inclusion of persons holding dual citizenship in the electoral roll. The Observer directed the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) to examine the matter impartially and in accordance with electoral laws and prescribed procedures.

ADC Jally Umpo presented an update on the progress of SIR-2026 and informed that disposal of claims and objections would continue until September 18, 2026. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on September 22, 2026.
