Nari-Koyu MLA Tojir Kadu on Friday chaired a review meeting to assess damages caused by flash floods, cloudbursts and landslides in various parts of the constituency on June 20 and 28.
The meeting reviewed the damage assessment reports prepared by the concerned line departments and took stock of the situation in the affected areas.
Ainstein Koyu, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Nari, presented detailed reports covering damages to roads, bridges, agriculture, public infrastructure, livelihood assets and other sectors.
Discussions were also held with Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) representatives to assess the ground situation and identify the immediate requirements of affected communities. Participants reviewed the extent of damages, assessment gaps and the need for coordinated and timely intervention.
The meeting also discussed measures for accurate and comprehensive documentation of damages, inter-departmental coordination and timely follow-up on relief, restoration and rehabilitation.
Kadu emphasised the need to properly document the actual extent of damage suffered by the people so that genuine concerns and requirements of affected communities could be placed before the competent authorities for appropriate relief and rehabilitation.
He further called for coordinated efforts by all concerned departments and field-level functionaries to ensure prompt and effective assessment and follow-up action.
The meeting was attended by ADC Nari Ainstein Koyu, Lower Siang Zilla Parishad Chairperson Pakmo Koyu, Koyu ZPM Nyachi Koyu, Assistant Commissioner Koyu Dr Marngam Kakki, Mandal President Token Kobo, senior leaders, PRI representatives, heads of departments and representatives of concerned departments.
