PMGSY training prog begins

YUPIA, SEP 14:

A three-day Circle-Level Training Programme on the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), focusing on quality control and hands-on field training, commenced at the Panchayat Conference Hall here on Monday.

Organised by the Rural Works Department (RWD), Poma-Yupia Division, the programme aims to enhance the technical knowledge and practical skills of engineers and technical personnel in road construction, quality control, field inspection, testing procedures and adherence to prescribed technical specifications.

Doimukh MLA Nabam Vivek attended the inaugural programme as the chief guest, while Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage was the guest of honour.

Engineers and technical personnel from the Poma-Yupia, Sagalee and Pakke-Kessang RWD divisions, along with professionals from reputed firms, are participating in the training.

Addressing the participants, Vivek emphasised professional integrity, dedication, continuous learning and uncompromising quality in public infrastructure projects. He highlighted the importance of road connectivity to rural development and urged engineers to implement PMGSY works in a mission mode with clear vision and commitment.

Hage stressed the need for durable road infrastructure suited to Arunachal Pradesh’s challenging terrain and climatic conditions, and called for prioritising connectivity to unconnected rural areas.

RWD Poma-Yupia Executive Engineer Techi Jobae presented a technical review of the division’s progress and milestones, besides highlighting key challenges and infrastructure requirements.

The training will continue till September 16 and will include technical sessions and hands-on field training conducted by resource persons from NIT Jote and RWD. (DIPR)
