The Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, organised an Industry Consultation Meet under the Prime Minister’s Scheme for Employment through Technical Upgradation (PM-SETU) in Ziro, Lower Subansiri district, on Wednesday to strengthen the state’s technical education and vocational skilling ecosystem.

Commerce and Industries, Labour and Employment, and Information, Public Relations and Printing Minister Nyato Dukam, who was the chief guest, was received by Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme, Superintendent of Police Techi Hanyir and other district officials.

Addressing industry representatives, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and government officials, Dukam emphasised the need to bridge the gap between evolving industry requirements and the employability of local youth through stronger public-private partnerships.

Advisor to the Minister Dr Mohesh Chai, the guest of honour, stressed the importance of integrated institutional growth and coordinated sectoral development to strengthen the regional workforce.

The programme also featured an address by Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Secretary Bullo Mamu, while Joint Secretary-cum-Director Sibo Passing participated in the ceremonial lamp-lighting. Representatives of the Union Ministry and Deputy Director Gyati Kacho made presentations on the roadmap for upgrading Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state under the PM-SETU framework.

An interactive open-house session was held with industry and PSU representatives, who were invited to explore their role as prospective Anchor Industry Partners (AIPs). The programme concluded with a visit to the Government Industrial Training Institute at Manipolyang.

The consultation emphasised aligning vocational infrastructure with emerging industrial requirements to expand employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for the youth of Arunachal Pradesh.
