PASIGHAT, SEP 23:

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bosiram Siram held a Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan-cum-Congress Connect meeting with senior district and block-level party functionaries at Tigra Mirbuk here on Wednesday, focusing on strengthening the Congress organisation at the grassroots level in East Siang.

The meeting discussed organisational restructuring, revitalisation of the cadre network, coordination among different organisational units and greater engagement with the people.

Among those present were APCC general secretary-cum-spokesperson and East Siang in-charge Daniel Gao, APCC secretary Allen Perme, DCC East Siang president Tamat Saroh, DMCC East Siang president Rokye Yosung, BMCC president Omik Tagi, Block Congress Committee president Omat Taloh, DYCC East Siang president Kalom Lego and DCC East Siang general secretary Tajing Pabi, besides other leaders and grassroots functionaries.

Addressing the meeting, Siram stressed that organisational strengthening should begin at the grassroots and called for systematic rebuilding of the District Congress Committee (DCC), Block Congress Committees (BCCs), booth-level structures and frontal and affiliated organisations.

He said the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan was aimed at reconnecting the party organisation with workers and grassroots communities. He stressed regular communication among organisational units and greater accessibility of party functionaries to the people.

Siram also called for greater participation of youth, women, students and grassroots workers in organisational activities and public outreach. He emphasised the need to combine the party’s grassroots network with modern communication tools and digital platforms.

Shiju P Joy, National Coordinator of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) National War Room and in-charge of Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast, also addressed the meeting. He explained the role of the Congress Connect Portal as a digital platform for communication, coordination, information sharing and engagement among party workers and urged functionaries to actively use it.

The meeting also stressed maintaining updated organisational data, strengthening booth-level connectivity and ensuring regular communication between grassroots workers and the State Congress leadership.

Siram said the success of the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan would depend on the participation of every party worker and organisational unit. He called for collective efforts and a clear organisational roadmap to strengthen the party’s presence across villages, booths and communities in East Siang.
