ITANAGAR, SEP 23:
The state-level inauguration of “Energy for Health – Arunachal Pradesh”, a collaborative initiative of the Department of Health & Family Welfare and SELCO Foundation, was held at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Itafort here on Wednesday.
Health & Family Welfare Minister Biyuram Wahge inaugurated the initiative in the presence of senior officials of the Health Department and representatives of SELCO Foundation.
The initiative aims to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure through reliable, clean and sustainable energy solutions, particularly in remote and underserved areas. Under the programme, 393 health facilities across Arunachal Pradesh have been covered for solarisation.
The programme also witnessed the launch of the Energy for Health – Arunachal Pradesh photo book, Saura e-Mitra App, a digital incident management system, and the Health Facility and Human Resource Mapping System (HFHRMS) web application.
The initiative is expected to support uninterrupted healthcare services, improve working conditions for healthcare personnel, reduce dependence on diesel-based power backup and strengthen sustainable and resilient health infrastructure across the State.
The Health Department acknowledged the contribution of SELCO Foundation and other development partners towards strengthening last-mile healthcare delivery through clean energy solutions. The Government of Arunachal Pradesh and SELCO Foundation had earlier entered into an agreement to solarise health facilities across the State.
