The ninth-generation Toyota Hilux has arrived in Pasighat, bringing a refreshed design, upgraded technology and improved performance features. Known globally for its durability and reliability, the latest Hilux is aimed at customers seeking a vehicle capable of handling both everyday driving and challenging terrain.
The new Hilux is powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that delivers 201 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. It is paired with an automatic transmission and is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 variants.
Among the key upgrades are a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 360-degree camera, LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights and LED rear lamps. The pickup also rides on 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with 265/65 R17 tyres.
Designed for rugged conditions, the Hilux retains a payload capacity of 500 kg and a water-wading capability of up to 700 mm. Its robust build and four-wheel-drive system are expected to appeal to customers who frequently travel on difficult roads and off-road routes.
The vehicle is available in seven colour options — Ash Grey, Silver Metallic, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Super White, Emotional Red and Sulphur Metallic. The ex-showroom price ranges from ₹31.99 lakh to ₹36.69 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Jacob Paron, who recently took delivery of the new Hilux, described the vehicle as dependable and well-suited for off-road driving. He also appreciated the upgraded features introduced in the latest model and encouraged young people to work hard and become self-reliant.
Toyota Sales Executive Samuel Panyang expressed gratitude to Paron for choosing the Hilux. He highlighted the vehicle’s upgraded technology, rugged construction and off-road capability, stating that the model has been designed to offer a balance of strength, reliability and long-term usability.
