LIKABALI, OCT 3:
The Fire & Emergency Services, Likabali, conducted a fire safety awareness programme for students of EuroKids School at the Likabali Fire Station on Saturday.
The programme was organised at the request of the school authority to sensitise students on basic fire safety measures and preventive practices.
Station Officer and Officer-in-Charge of Likabali Fire Station Imme Ngomdir, along with his team, briefed the students on common causes of fire, preventive measures and safe practices, besides explaining the appropriate steps to be taken during a fire emergency. The team also interacted with the students and explained fire safety concepts in a simple and practical manner.
Ngomdir stressed the importance of creating safety awareness among children at an early age, noting that safety habits developed during childhood can have a lasting impact on responsible behaviour.
He appreciated the school authority for initiating the programme and cooperating with the Fire & Emergency Services Department.
The department also appealed to people across Lower Siang district to exercise extra caution during winter while using electrical appliances, heaters, LPG/gas stoves, candles and other sources of fire. People were advised not to leave fire or heating appliances unattended and to immediately report any fire emergency to the Fire & Emergency Services for timely assistance. (DIPR)
