Guv awards scholarships to meritorious Puroik students

ITANAGAR, OCT 7:

Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd) on Wednesday awarded scholarships to four meritorious students from the Puroik community in recognition of their outstanding performance in the Class X and Class XII board examinations.

Each student will receive ₹7,000 from the Governor’s Excellent Awards corpus fund established to support educational advancement among students of the Puroik Welfare Society.

The recipients are Class XII students Jeena Siji and Naya Purik and Class X students Charmak Soja and Bissly Painchey. The students have excelled academically despite social and economic challenges.

While approving the scholarships, the Governor expressed happiness that all four awardees are girls and said their achievements were a source of pride and could serve as an example for other young girls in the community. He hoped the scholarships would encourage more students to pursue education with determination and confidence.

Emphasising the role of education as an instrument of social transformation and empowerment, Parnaik wished the awardees continued success and urged them to inspire other children from the Puroik community to pursue their aspirations and contribute to the progress of the State.
