ITANAGAR, OCT 8:
A special drive for the enrolment of left-out eligible electors and young newly eligible voters is being undertaken across Arunachal Pradesh following the publication of the Final Electoral Roll on September 22, 2026, in pursuance of instructions issued by the Election Commission of India.
The drive is being conducted at the level of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) under the direct supervision of District Election Officers (DEOs). As part of the exercise, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), along with other field-level functionaries, will organise special camps at respective polling stations across the State to facilitate enrolment of eligible citizens who are yet to be included in the electoral roll, including those who may have been left out during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
The Chief Electoral Officer, Arunachal Pradesh, stated that voter enrolment is a continuous process and that any eligible person who has not been enrolled, or whose name has been deleted, may apply for enrolment at any time. The special drive aims to identify and facilitate the enrolment of such eligible electors.
The drive will particularly focus on young and first-time eligible electors who have attained 18 years of age but have not yet been included in the electoral roll. Eligible persons will be assisted in submitting Form 6 for inclusion of their names.
All eligible electors have been urged to avail themselves of the special camps and ensure that their names are included in the electoral roll, thereby strengthening participation in the democratic process.
The Election Commission of India reiterated its commitment to ensuring that “Every Eligible Elector is added and no ineligible entries remain in the Electoral Roll.”
