Ledum defeated Mirem 5–1 in the final of the 24th Odam Ering Memorial Football Tournament 2026, organised by the Odam Ering Memorial Football Tournament Committee (OEMFTC).

The tournament featured 18 teams and provided a platform for local players to display their footballing skills, teamwork and competitive spirit.

Emphasising the role of sports in shaping young people, he encouraged them to follow the message “Yes to Sports, No to Drugs” and participate in physical activities to stay fit and develop positive habits.

Organising chairman Pirtem Panggeng said the participation of 18 teams reflected the enthusiasm for football in the area. He highlighted the importance of village-level sporting events in nurturing local talent and noted that organising a tournament of this scale required considerable effort, coordination, resources and community support.

He said the committee remained committed to providing players with opportunities to showcase their abilities and encouraging young people to engage in sports and other constructive activities.

The tournament also served to strengthen community bonds, promote healthy competition and keep alive the memory of Odam Ering.
