RAGA, OCT 15:
Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak visited Kamle district on a two-day tour under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and interacted with heads of departments (HoDs) through a “Chai Pe Samvad” programme.
Kamle Deputy Commissioner JT Obi welcomed the MP and briefed him on the district’s overall profile. District Planning Officer Mantu Gyadi gave a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the district’s achievements and challenges.
During the interaction, Tagak reviewed the status of the education, health and administrative sectors. He stressed the need for planned and sustained water conservation, particularly the protection of springs, which are vital sources of water for communities in the Himalayan region.
Expressing concern over the consequences of mismanaged water resources in hilly areas, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh, he called on the concerned departments to prioritise spring water conservation to help prevent flooding and minimise loss of life and property.
Tagak said the objective of his visit was to interact with the public and government departments, bridge the gap between the state and Central governments, and facilitate overall development and nation-building.
He was accompanied by Teche Necha, vice-chairman of the Arunachal Bamboo Resource Development.
