PASIGHAT, OCT 27:
Pasighat East MLA Tapi Darang inaugurated a newly installed deep borewell water system at the Upper Campus of Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC), Pasighat, on Monday, addressing a long-standing water shortage at the institution.
The installation fulfils an assurance made by Darang during an earlier visit to the college, when he promised to prioritise the persistent water crisis faced by students, faculty members and administrative staff.
Addressing the gathering, Darang reiterated his commitment to the development of the college and stressed the importance of essential infrastructure, particularly access to clean drinking water, in maintaining a healthy and conducive academic environment.
JNC principal Gindu Borang, vice-principal Leki Sitang, heads of departments, faculty members and student representatives attended the programme.
The college community expressed gratitude to Darang for addressing the issue and appreciated Borang for prioritising the water shortage and coordinating with the concerned authorities to facilitate the installation.
The new system is expected to improve access to water at the Upper Campus and support the smooth conduct of academic activities.
