Wangsu inaugurates Green Gold Animal Feed Plant at Doimukh

DOIMUKH, OCT 30:

Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister Gabriel D Wangsu on Friday inaugurated M/s Rongoge Animal Feed Plant, operating under the brand name Green Gold Feed, at Doimukh, describing it as an important step towards strengthening the livestock and fisheries sectors in Arunachal Pradesh.

Addressing the gathering, Wangsu congratulated the promoter Likha Maj for taking up the venture despite various challenges, observing that establishing such a facility required vision, commitment and an understanding of the potential of the state’s agricultural economy.

He said the animal husbandry sector in Arunachal Pradesh was poised for significant growth and expressed confidence that the new facility would contribute to its development.

Highlighting the importance of animal nutrition, the minister described breed, seed and feed as the three essential pillars of a successful farming system, stating that neglecting any one of them could affect productivity and farmers’ income.

He pointed out that inadequate technical knowledge about livestock nutrition and the use of quality feed affected animal growth, milk yield, meat production, poultry performance and fish growth, ultimately reducing farmers’ returns.

Wangsu noted that access to quality animal feed remained a major challenge in the Northeast and expressed hope that the Doimukh facility would improve its availability and encourage commercial livestock and fisheries activities across the region.

He also urged the management to maintain high production standards and continue manufacturing feed free from urea, emphasising that quality and consistency would be crucial to building farmers’ confidence in the product.

Industry Minister Nyato Dukam, who also attended the programme, appreciated the promoter’s initiative, describing the plant as more than a business venture, with the potential to serve the farming community. He assured government support for the growth and development of the unit.

The inaugural programme was attended by the Itanagar Deputy Commissioner, Naharlagun Superintendent of Police, Director of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development, senior government officials, representatives of the plant and local farmers.
