ITANAGAR, NOV 5:

The Paralympic Association of Arunachal (PAA) on Wednesday organized the State-level Para Sports Selection Trials and Competitions  at various venues across the Itanagar region, in preparation for the 2nd edition of the North East Para Games 2025, scheduled to be held from November 27 to 29 at Guwahati, Assam.

The selection events were held in six para-sports disciplines including Para Athletics (Outdoor Stadium, Yupia), Para Badminton (Borum Badminton Hall), Para Boccia (Naharlagun), Para Chess (Itanagar), Para Swimming (Doimukh) and Para Table Tennis (Itanagar).

A total of 78 para-athletes from different districts of Arunachal Pradesh participated with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

After the completion of the trials, 53 athletes were selected to represent the state at the upcoming North East Para Games 2025 in Guwahati.

In the 1st edition of the North East Para Games, Arunachal Pradesh contingent achieved remarkable success by securing the second position in the overall medals tally among the North-Eastern states, bringing immense pride to the state.
