LIKABALI : A review meeting on the implementation and progress of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Vibrant Village Programme (VVP) projects under the Bam and Pasighat circles was held at the Public Works Department (PWD) Circuit House here on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by Rural Works Department Secretary Duly Kamduk and attended by Rural Works Department Chief Engineer (PMGSY) Nyai Rigia, superintending engineers, executive engineers and officials from various Project Implementation Units (PIUs).
In his address, Kamduk stressed the need for strict quality control, timely execution of works and effective monitoring to ensure successful implementation of PMGSY and VVP projects. He urged implementing agencies to work in close coordination and address bottlenecks affecting project progress.
The review focused on projects being executed by PIUs at Yingkiong, Pasighat, Kaying, Panging, Mechuka, Aalo, Basar and Likabali. Officials presented project-wise progress reports, highlighted field-level challenges and outlined measures being taken to expedite completion of works.
Earlier, the inaugural session featured a welcome address by the Superintending Engineer of Rural Works Circle Bam, while Chief Engineer Nyai Rigia highlighted the importance of maintaining quality standards and ensuring timely completion of rural road infrastructure projects. Discussions were also held on quality-related issues and innovative practices for effective project implementation.
Concluding the meeting, Rigia reiterated the department’s commitment to strengthening rural road connectivity and ensuring the successful execution of PMGSY and VVP projects across the state.
The meeting served as a platform to assess project performance, address implementation challenges and chart a roadmap for the timely completion of key infrastructure projects in the region. (DIPR)
