East Siang DCC-DLRC reviews credit flow, flagship schemes

PASIGHAT, AUG 27:

The District Consultative Committee (DCC) and District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting for the quarter ended June 2026 was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of East Siang Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani to review banking performance and implementation of government-sponsored schemes during 2026-27.

The meeting reviewed the Credit Deposit (CD) Ratio, which stood at 39.10 per cent as of June 2026, along with credit flow to agriculture, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), priority and non-priority sectors.

The implementation of schemes including the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), self-help groups (SHGs) and social security schemes was also discussed.

The meeting also reviewed major state government flagship schemes, including Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana (ANKY), Atma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojana (ANBY), Atma Nirbhar Plantation Yojana (ANPY), Atma Nirbhar Matsyapalan Yojana (ANMPY), Atma Nirbhar Pashupalan Yojana (ANPPY) and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Swavalamban Yojana (DDUSY).

The DC appreciated banks for releasing funds to eligible beneficiaries under agriculture-related schemes, particularly ANKY and ANPY. She stressed the need for timely disposal of pending applications and closer coordination between banks and line departments to ensure beneficiaries receive assistance without delay.

The Industries Department highlighted portal-related issues and pending cases under the Prime Minister Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme and PMEGP.

The meeting also discussed employment generation, promotion of micro food-processing enterprises and timely disposal of applications under DDUSY. It was decided that applications not complying with prescribed queries or requirements should be rejected appropriately to enable eligible applicants on the waiting list to be considered.

The DDSE requested banks to facilitate opening of accounts for minors as part of efforts to strengthen financial inclusion.

The DC expressed concern over the absence of some bank branch managers from important inter-departmental meetings and stressed that all concerned banks and departments should ensure active participation and effective coordination in future review meetings.

The meeting began with a welcome address by the Lead District Manager East Siang, followed by introductions of participating officials. (DIPR)
