ANA inaugurates new office ‘Charung Piimii Lanii’ in Ziro

ZIRO, SEP 13:

The Apatani Nyibu Association (ANA) on Sunday inaugurated its new office, Charung Piimii Lanii, in Ziro, marking a significant step towards preserving and promoting the community’s indigenous cultural heritage.

The inauguration was attended by Ziro Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme, ANA president Hage Tasser, general secretary Pura Pai, members of the association’s executive body, community leaders and local well-wishers.

Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the enduring role of the Nyibu institution as a cornerstone of Apatani identity. The institution has traditionally safeguarded ancestral knowledge, sacred rituals, oral traditions and spiritual practices passed down through generations.

They emphasised that dedicated spaces such as Charung Piimii Lanii would help sustain these traditional systems and ensure that Apatani cultural knowledge and practices continue to be preserved and passed on to future generations.

The gathering also appreciated the ANA’s continued efforts to protect and promote indigenous traditions and preserve the community’s rich cultural heritage.
