ITANAGAR : The Arunachal Pradesh Employees’ Welfare Federation (APEWF) celebrated its first anniversary at its office here on Saturday, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the welfare and interests of government employees across the state.
Addressing the gathering, attended by office bearers, members and well-wishers, APEWF President Phill Takur highlighted various welfare measures and service benefits available to government employees under the Central Pay Commission (CPC), including Children Education Allowance (CEA), Transport Allowance, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Medical Reimbursement and other admissible allowances. He stressed the need to ensure that all eligible employees receive these benefits in accordance with existing rules and government policies.
Takur appealed to the state government to give due consideration to appointments on compassionate grounds and to formulate appropriate policy measures for the regularisation of eligible contractual, contingency and part-time employees in accordance with applicable laws and government policy.
He also urged the government to consider extending welfare benefits such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Children Education Allowance (CEA), Transport Allowance, Medical Reimbursement, Dearness Allowance (DA) and annual increments to contractual, contingency and part-time employees on humanitarian grounds, subject to policy provisions and financial feasibility.
The APEWF president further called upon leaders of employees’ associations, forums and unions across Arunachal Pradesh to work together in a spirit of unity for the welfare of employees. He also urged the government to consider restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), taking into account the aspirations of employees.
Emphasising the role of government employees in nation-building, Takur called upon regular, contractual, contingency and part-time employees to uphold punctuality, discipline, dedication and integrity in the discharge of their duties. Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat, he said government employees are key partners in delivering public services and achieving the country’s developmental goals.
Speaking on the occasion, APEWF Women’s Wing President Kumari Tanga appealed to employees across the state to extend their support to the federation. She urged them to understand the organisation’s vision and objectives and actively participate in its initiatives for employees’ welfare.
APEWF General Secretary Taniang Kumo, Women’s Wing General Secretary Anni Phill and others also addressed the programme.
The celebration concluded with the federation reaffirming its commitment to working for the welfare, unity and professional development of employees while extending full cooperation towards strengthening public administration and the overall development of Arunachal Pradesh.
