KHONSA : The Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles (AR) is conducting the Summer Camp 2026 at Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), Khonsa from June 22 to 28 under the theme “National Unity and Tribal Infusion.”
The week-long camp has brought together around 160 students from schools across the Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) region, providing them with a platform to develop leadership qualities, creativity, teamwork and overall personality through a range of educational and recreational activities.
The camp was inaugurated by the Commandant 44 Assam Rifles, who encouraged the participants to make the most of the opportunity by cultivating self-confidence, discipline, leadership skills and the spirit of teamwork.
Students are taking part in a variety of activities, including camping, Run for Fun, survival skills training, arts and crafts, team-building exercises, nature adventure trails, cultural performances, exploration of tribal heritage and campfire sessions. The activities are designed to promote experiential learning and holistic development.
During the camp, the Commander Headquarters 25 Sector Assam Rifles visited ARPS, Khonsa and interacted with the participants. Addressing the students, he urged them to strive for excellence in academics as well as extracurricular activities while upholding the values of discipline, integrity, patriotism and responsible citizenship.
As part of the programme, the participants will also undertake an educational and recreational tour to gain practical exposure beyond the classroom.
The Summer Camp aims to strengthen national integration, foster cultural awareness and promote mutual respect among the diverse tribal communities of the TCL region. Through its theme, the initiative reflects the Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to empowering the youth and nurturing future leaders. (DIPR)
