NEW DELHI, SEP 5:

Arunachal Pradesh educator Yaku Tame, Headmistress of Government Secondary School, G-Sector, Naharlagun, was conferred the National Teachers’ Award 2026 by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan here on Saturday on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.

Tame was among 48 outstanding educators from across the country selected for the prestigious national honour in recognition of their exemplary contribution to school education. She was the sole recipient from Arunachal Pradesh among this year’s awardees.

The award comprises a certificate of merit, silver medal and a cash prize of Rs 50,000, recognising her dedicated service and contribution towards improving the quality of education and promoting academic excellence.

Tame’s achievement marks a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh and highlights the contribution of educators from the state to the national education landscape. Her recognition is also expected to inspire teachers and students across the state to strive for excellence in education.
