Awareness on POCSO Act, drug abuse held

ETALIN, OCT 13:

A Mahila Sabha and Bal Balika Sabha was held at Etalin in Dibang Valley district on Tuesday, bringing together women and schoolchildren from the Etalin–Maliney block to discuss community concerns and issues related to public services and child welfare.

The meeting deliberated on school infrastructure, waste management and the functioning of Anganwadi Centres across the block. Officials from the Women and Child Development Department, Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM), Health Services and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) sensitised participants on various government schemes and welfare services.

Awareness sessions were also conducted on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The initiative aimed to encourage community participation and provide women and children with a platform to raise concerns affecting their welfare and development.

It also underscored the need for coordinated efforts by government departments and local communities to address grassroots issues and improve the delivery of welfare services.
