PASIGHAT : The Bogong Banggo Kebang (BBK), in coordination with the Bogong Banggo Land Action Committee (BBLAC), Bogong Banggo Yameng Kebang (BBYK) and Adi Bane Kebang’s Students’ Union (ABSU), has announced a 12-hour Phase-I Pasighat bandh on August 4 from 5 am to 5 pm.

The organisations said the bandh has been called alleging inaction by the district administration despite repeated representations, memoranda, public appeals and a peaceful rally-cum-dharna over various land-related issues.

Their key demands include cross-verification of recent land allotments, eviction of alleged encroachers from government land, inclusion of BBK and BBLAC in the District Land Allotment Committee (DLAC), removal of encroachments from educational institution land, and transparency in the selection of beneficiaries for MAUP Smart City buildings.

The organisations stated that government offices, business establishments, commercial institutions, transport operators and other establishments within the jurisdiction of Bogong Banggo are expected to remain closed during the bandh.

However, essential services, including hospitals, ambulance services, police, armed forces, fire and emergency services, sanitation services, milk supply, funeral services and accredited media personnel, have been exempted from the shutdown.
