CHANGLANG, SEP 25:

A coordination meeting of administrative officers of Changlang district was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner RD Thungon to review field-level administration, monitoring of government schemes, public welfare initiatives and developmental activities.

The meeting discussed identification and resolution of major local issues in each circle and sub-division, monthly monitoring of government schools, PM POSHAN and other schemes, and regular monitoring of Anganwadi Centres, including enrolment, nutrition and Take-Home Ration (THR) distribution.

The officers also reviewed installation of smart meters in government offices, quarters and eligible households, intensification of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, and monthly monitoring and reporting of rehabilitation centres.

Preparatory measures for the proposed prohibition of single-use plastics from January 1, 2027, including promotion of eco-friendly alternatives, were also discussed. The meeting further proposed performance-based incentives to encourage effective implementation and healthy competition among sub-divisions and circles.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasised regular field visits, direct interaction with the public, close monitoring of government programmes and timely resolution of local issues.

All administrative officers were directed to ensure time-bound implementation of decisions and submit regular compliance reports to the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
