ITANAGAR : The Confederation of Service Association of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and widespread devastation caused by the flash flood that struck Poosa village under Yazali Circle in Keyi Panyor district on June 24.

In a statement, CoSAAP conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the eternal peace of those who lost their lives in the tragedy, reportedly triggered by a cloudburst.

The organisation also prayed for strength and courage for the affected families during this difficult time.

The association noted that the disaster caused extensive damage to houses, agricultural fields, livestock, public infrastructure and livelihoods, leaving many families homeless and in urgent need of assistance.

Appealing for collective humanitarian support, CoSAAP called upon government employees across the state, particularly those serving in or hailing from Keyi Panyor district, to contribute generously in cash or kind according to their capacity.

The organisation stated that all financial contributions collected through the CoSAAP Keyi Panyor district unit would be deposited into the Deputy Commissioner’s Relief Fund, Keyi Panyor, for relief, rehabilitation and welfare of the affected families.

CoSAAP also requested its Keyi Panyor district unit to coordinate with Heads of Departments (HoDs) for effective mobilisation and collection of relief assistance and submit a consolidated report of the contributions.

In the appeal, CoSAAP urged citizens and government employees to stand united with the flood-affected families and extend support in the spirit of compassion, solidarity and social responsibility.

The appeal was jointly issued by CoSAAP President Likha Tech and Secretary General Leena Taggu.
