PASIGHAT, OCT 28:
Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Fwwrman Brahma, who is holding additional charge of East Siang district, chaired the monthly District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC)-cum-District Development Report (DDR) review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall in Pasighat on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed the progress of infrastructure projects undertaken by various executing agencies, including the District Secretariat building, Mini Secretariat building at Ruksin and construction works at Arunachal Pradesh University.
Brahma urged the concerned departments to regularly monitor ongoing works, maintain construction quality and complete projects within the stipulated timelines. He also called for resolving long-pending issues through regular reviews and better interdepartmental coordination.
Flagging the recurring issue of government buildings being handed over without adequate furniture, the Deputy Commissioner directed departments to submit fund requisitions to their respective higher authorities in time to ensure that completed buildings become fully functional and deliver effective public services.
He also called on line departments to review the implementation of flagship Atma Nirbhar schemes, particularly those under Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, and strengthen monitoring of other flagship schemes.
East Siang Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ruth Tabing Boko urged executing departments to complete assigned works on schedule and present updated physical and financial progress reports on flagship schemes during DLMC meetings.
Pasighat Municipal Council Chief Councillor Tagom Padung stressed the need for regular monitoring and joint inspections of ongoing works. He also urged the concerned departments to expedite pending payments to workers engaged in flood-related restoration and relief activities in areas affected by the monsoon floods earlier this year.
The meeting emphasised timely project completion, effective monitoring of government schemes and coordinated efforts to resolve outstanding issues and improve public service delivery in the district. (DIPR)
