DAHUNG : As part of the National Reading Month observance from June 19 to July 18, the District Library, Bomdila, conducted a two-day awareness and outreach programme through its mobile library service, The Kitabi Express, across various locations in West Kameng district.
The outreach team visited Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Avasiya Vidyalaya at Shergaon and the villages of Jigaon, Jameri, Kaspi and Dahung, where it interacted with students and local residents to promote reading habits and encourage a culture of reading among the younger generation.
During the programme, library officials highlighted the importance of books in enhancing knowledge, creativity and critical thinking. Students were encouraged to cultivate reading as a lifelong habit for personal and academic growth.
To further stimulate interest in reading and learning, books were distributed among students during the outreach activities.
The programme formed part of the District Library’s ongoing efforts to extend library services to remote areas and create greater awareness about the role of reading in educational, intellectual and personal development through its mobile library initiative, The Kitabi Express. (DIPR)
