Food safety inspections conducted at fish markets in West Kameng

BOMDILA : As part of routine food safety surveillance and enforcement measures, Bomdila Food Safety Officer Dr Kesang Yeshi Tukshipa on Wednesday conducted inspections at fish markets in Tenga, Rupa and Bomdila in West Kameng district.

The inspection assessed the quality, freshness, hygiene and safe handling of fish being sold to consumers. Food business operators were also examined for compliance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, with particular emphasis on maintaining proper sanitary conditions at their establishments.

During the inspection, Dr Tukshipa advised all Food Business Operators (FBOs) to strictly adhere to good hygienic practices, maintain cleanliness in and around their establishments, and ensure that all fish and other food products offered for sale are safe and fit for human consumption.
