Former SUMA president Tai Tayu, team joins Congress

ITANAGAR, SEP 21:

The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Monday welcomed former Student Union Movement of Arunachal (SUMA) president Tai Tayu and around 30 others into the Indian National Congress at a joining programme held here.

The new members joined the party under the leadership of Itanagar City Congress Committee president Kipa Natung in the presence of APCC president Bosiram Siram, MLA Kumar Waii, working president Techi Tagi, vice president Adv. Abraham K. Techi, general secretary Chera Taya and other senior party leaders and office-bearers.

District Congress Committee presidents and district social media coordinators from across the State also attended the programme as part of the Congress Connect Training-cum-Orientation Programme organised by the APCC Media & Social Media Department in collaboration with the State War Room.

Welcoming the new entrants, Siram said their joining would add fresh energy and organisational strength to the party. He said the Congress was committed to building a united, disciplined and people-centric organisation in Arunachal Pradesh and called upon the new members to actively participate in party activities and work for the people.

“The Congress is not merely a political party; it is an organisation with a long democratic and constitutional tradition. We welcome every citizen who believes in democracy, constitutional values, social justice and the unity and integrity of India,” Siram said.

He said strengthening the organisation required greater participation, coordination, discipline and accountability at all levels, adding that the party’s organisational strength depended on its workers and grassroots-level engagement.

The APCC said the Congress Connect initiative aims to strengthen communication and coordination between the State Congress Committee, District Congress Committees and grassroots workers through organisational and digital platforms.

The party welcomed Tai Tayu and the newly inducted members and said their participation would contribute to its organisational activities across the State.
