Governor arrives at Shillong to attend NEC Plenary

SHILLONG : Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd.), arrived in Shillong on Wednesday to participate in the 73rd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC).

The Governor, accompanied by Commissioner to Governor, Pawan Kumar Sain, was received by officials of the NEC upon his arrival.

The day-long session will be chaired by Union Home Minister and Chairman of the North Eastern Council, Amit Shah. It will also be attended by the Vice-Chairman of the NEC, Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with the Governors and Chief Ministers of the North Eastern States, Chief Secretaries, senior officials of the Government of India, and other distinguished delegates.

The plenary is expected to review the progress of ongoing developmental initiatives in the region and chart a forward-looking roadmap to accelerate growth, enhance connectivity, strengthen border infrastructure, and improve the quality of life of the people of the North East in line with the vision of a developed and prosperous India.
