ITANAGAR : Veer Nari Koiman Wangpan, wife of Late Sepoy Agoi Wangsa Shaurya Chakra (posthumous), called on Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd) at Lok Bhavan on Thursday.
During the interaction, the Governor enquired about her well-being and appreciated her courage, resilience, and strength in the face of adversity. He described her as an inspiration to society and encouraged her to move forward with confidence and dignity.
“The spirit of sacrifice and patriotism reflected in your journey is truly inspiring,” the Governor said.
Parnaik urged her to actively participate in community service, women empowerment initiatives, and youth guidance programmes so that her life experience can motivate others. He also emphasised the importance of education, skill development, self-reliance, and the welfare of her children, encouraging her to make full use of welfare schemes and support systems available for Veer Naris to ensure a secure future.
During the interaction, Wangpan shared her aspirations and challenges and sought guidance and support from the Governor. She also apprised him of the non-receipt of emoluments due to her from the state.
The Governor assured necessary assistance through the Rajya Sainik Board.
It may be recalled that the Governor virtually inaugurated the War Memorial in honour of Late Lance Naik Agoi Wangsa Shaurya Chakra (Posthumous) at Longding on April 20, 2025.
