Natung stresses timely completion of water supply schemes

ITANAGAR : Public Health Engineering and Water Supply Minister Mama Natung on Thursday directed field officers to ensure timely completion of ongoing projects, expedite the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and strengthen the operation and maintenance of water supply schemes across Arunachal Pradesh.

Chairing the State-level Review-cum-Coordination Meeting of the Public Health Engineering and Water Supply Department at Pare Hall, DK Convention Centre here, Natung reviewed the progress of major projects in the presence of Adviser to the Minister Pani Taram, Commissioner Amjad Tak and senior departmental officials.

The meeting assessed the status of ongoing projects, Jal Jeevan Mission implementation, budget proposals, restoration of infrastructure damaged by floods, water metering initiatives, revenue generation and human resource matters. Superintendent Engineers presented district-wise progress reports and highlighted key implementation challenges.

Natung also instructed officers to improve revenue collection and strengthen inter-departmental coordination for effective implementation of water supply schemes.

He assured that the issue of regularisation of eligible contractual employees engaged under Centrally Sponsored Schemes would be pursued with the government.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthen water supply services and ensure efficient, transparent and people-centric service delivery across the state.
