Nyigyor flags off ambulance for Sibe Health Centre

LIKABALI, Oct 30:

Deputy Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Kardo Nyigyor on Friday flagged off a Bolero Neo+ P4 ambulance for Sibe Health Centre in Lower Siang district, aimed at strengthening emergency healthcare services in the remote circle.

The ambulance, procured under the Non-Border Area Development Programme (Non-BADP) Scheme, was flagged off during a ceremony at Kardu Taipodia District Hospital in Likabali. The programme was attended by Lower Siang Deputy Commissioner Gobi Nyicyor, APCS; Superintendent of Police Bomken Basar, APPS; Heads of Departments and medical personnel.

Describing the initiative as an important step towards improving healthcare delivery, Nyigyor said the ambulance would facilitate timely transportation of patients, particularly those from remote areas of Sibe Circle. It would also help patients access higher medical facilities in Dibrugarh and Itanagar during emergencies and accidents.

He said providing an ambulance to Sibe had been a long-standing public demand and that funds under the Non-BADP Scheme were utilised to procure the vehicle, keeping in view the difficulties faced by residents during medical emergencies.

The Deputy Speaker urged the Health Department to ensure proper maintenance and responsible utilisation of the ambulance. He also appealed to the public to protect the vehicle as public property and ensure that it was not misused.

The initiative is expected to improve access to emergency medical transportation and strengthen healthcare services for residents of Sibe Circle. (DIPR)
