KANUBARI : A total of 83,201 farmers in Arunachal Pradesh received financial assistance amounting to ₹16.88 crore under the 23rd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, it was informed during a live webcast programme held at the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Conference Hall in Kanubari on Saturday.
The programme, organised with the support of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Longding, enabled farmers and stakeholders to witness the nationwide release of the latest PM-KISAN instalment by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture and Allied Sectors Minister Gabriel D Wangsu attended the event as chief guest. Also present were Kanubari Additional Deputy Commissioner Yashwant Meena, district heads of offices, senior scientists from KVK Longding, Zilla Parishad Members, public leaders, officials and more than 200 farmer beneficiaries from Kanubari and adjoining areas.
Addressing the gathering, Wangsu highlighted the importance of PM-KISAN as a flagship farmer welfare scheme of the Government of India, stating that it has provided assured income support to farmers and contributed significantly to agricultural development and livelihood security.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and all implementing agencies involved in ensuring the efficient delivery of benefits to eligible farmers.
The programme underscored the Centre’s continued commitment to farmer welfare, prosperity and empowerment through transparent, technology-driven Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanisms.
The event concluded with an interaction session with farmers and dissemination of information on various agricultural development programmes and farmer-centric schemes being implemented in the state.
