YUPIA : Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Lobsang Tsering on Wednesday called for greater dedication, professionalism and sustained efforts to improve educational standards across the district while reviewing key initiatives and academic performance of the Education Department.
Chairing a coordination meeting of the department at the DC Conference Hall, Tsering stressed that punctuality, sincerity, dedication and transparency are the cornerstones of public service and urged all employees to uphold these values in the discharge of their duties.
Highlighting the crucial role of educators, the DC said teachers should go beyond classroom instruction and focus on inculcating moral values, civic sense and ethics among students to help shape responsible citizens.
While appreciating the improvement in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination results, he encouraged the department and teaching fraternity to intensify efforts to achieve even better academic outcomes in the coming years.
During the meeting, Certificates of Appreciation were presented to Government Higher Secondary School Balijan, Government Higher Secondary School Kimin, Government Higher Secondary School Banderdewa and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Sagalee for securing 100 per cent pass results in the 2025–26 CBSE examinations. Principals of the schools shared their success stories and best practices that contributed to the achievement.
The DC also directed the department to expedite pending Land Possession Certificates (LPCs) for schools through close coordination with the Land Department.
On infrastructure development, Tsering emphasised the need for regular monitoring and close coordination with executing agencies to ensure timely and quality execution of projects sanctioned under various funding heads. He said quality infrastructure is essential for strengthening the education sector.
Stressing the importance of cleanliness in educational institutions, he informed that discussions would be initiated for implementing effective waste management and waste segregation practices in school campuses.
Earlier, Papum Pare Deputy Director of School Education T T Tara welcomed the participants and outlined the objectives of the meeting. A detailed presentation by District Project Coordinator (ISSE) Moromi Tang reviewed issues relating to school mergers, pending LPCs, educational initiatives under the Integrated Scheme for School Education (ISSE), CBSE examination results, pupil-teacher ratios and other departmental developments.
