ITANAGAR, OCT 23:

The Paralympic Association of Arunachal (PAA) organised a reception here on Friday to welcome para-athlete and blind football player Boje Marbom following his participation in the 5th Asian Para Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The association honoured Marbom for representing Arunachal Pradesh at the international sporting event, describing his participation as a proud moment for the state and an inspiration for aspiring para-athletes.

The PAA said para-athletes had immense potential to win medals for the state and the country if provided with adequate training facilities, professional coaching, financial assistance and equal opportunities.

The association expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pema Khandu and the state government, particularly the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, for their support and commitment to the development of para-sports and the welfare of athletes with disabilities.

It also called for continued cooperation with the government to strengthen para-sports infrastructure, promote grassroots talent and provide better training facilities and competitive opportunities.

The PAA reiterated its commitment to strengthening the para-sports movement in Arunachal Pradesh and ensuring that athletes with disabilities receive the support and platforms needed to realise their potential and bring laurels to the state and the country.
