PASIGHAT, AUG 14:
Spearhead Gunners based at Sigar Military Station in Pasighat conducted a youth outreach programme at Jonai Science College in Jonai, Dhemaji district of Assam on Friday as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations.
The programme, attended by around 120 students from Class V to first-year degree, featured a motivational lecture on “Join Indian Army” aimed at creating awareness about career opportunities in the Armed Forces.
The programme began with an art competition on the themes of Independence Day and patriotism, followed by an interactive session on the role and organisation of the Indian Army, life in the Army, pay and emoluments and various avenues for joining the force.
Students interacted with the Army personnel and sought guidance on career opportunities and life as a soldier.
A prize distribution ceremony was held to felicitate students who performed well in the art competition. The programme concluded with the hoisting of the National Flag and singing of the National Anthem by students, faculty members and Army personnel.
The outreach initiative provided an opportunity for the Spearhead Gunners to engage with youth in neighbouring Jonai and promote awareness about career opportunities in the Indian Army while encouraging patriotism, national pride and a spirit of service to the nation. (DIP
